i just had an idear while trying to get my rig clip to stay in the right place, why about using hooks as bait clips?
cut off the point and barb and use as if you would on a pennel rig by wraping the line around, im gonna make up afew rigs with them n test and will let you know if it works, seems like a cheap alternative to bait clips

That should work Ben,some of the best clips i ever used were a simple piece of wire that you twisted around your line,they domt make them anymore though.
I now use gemini leads for all my clip down rigs,they come in all shapes and sizes and they cut out impact shields/bait clips on your rigs.

also had an idea for a new rig which im tryna make at the moment, consists of 4 hooks, an impact sheild and 2 bait clips, its hard getting the lengths all right, will let every1 know how it goes once i test it

its gonna be quite some mighty rig atchuly, 8ft long with 4 2ft traces
its all gonna fold up to a length of 2ft for casting

its either gonna be really great or its gonna be really rubish and will just end up in a tangle, a big tangle
but you will never know unless you try
the idea was to make a long rig which could be cast easily and have well presented bait with 4 hooks, it kinda folds up like a "Z" on its side

it didnt work, just made 1 big tangle when i cast!
o well, worth a try i guess
