Re: What to Buy?

You are welcome anytime on the forum as is everyone. Most of us offer advice without the need of anyone having to thank us. We don’t do it for that.

Im only sorry that you have been treated so shabbily as a newbie to the forum.
We are not all like that honest.

I would and as well as many others would like to welcome you to the forum and please, any questions, just fire away.

Kiwi.

I am arnt I . My brother and I used to sneak into Beverley Park (lived just over the fence at the back of park) to go swimming when we were younger! As we got older we used to sneak in to the club to chat up all the scottish lasses on the holidays.

Happy days

Cool Re: What to Buy?

Hi Fishin' widow.

I hope you got the Abu and I do hope that you get braid put on and also, try and get hubby an Abu Conolon rod to go with it. H'e'll be chuffed with that
Make sure it has specific braid guides and not rollers as John Marshall has already posted on.

Good luck and maybe when you next holiday in Devon let us know on the forum as we have some very good fisherman down that way who would be more than willing to help hubby and you out to get some decent fishing.

Talking Re: What to Buy?

Guys you have restored my faith x I have won and purchased on ebay the Abu 7000 Red as instructed £55, Abu Garcia Equalizer 2 piece Boat Rod £21 and a wee extra (bid on it a few days ago after 'expert' advice on other website and no one else wanted it)Shimano Aerlex 7000XS £43. I was going to get braid too from braid direct but I think I'll leave that up to him. Hey he can't have everything handed to him on a plate! So hopefully all will arrive in time for Valentines Day and I'll stick a big bow on it.

Kiwi - fortunately( or not) I only turned the big 3 0h this year so we probably won't have met , however my big sisters are another thing! Glasgow fair fortnight down there must be fun for you guys.

Hubby's got a bit disenchanted with the fishin down there but I think it's lack of local knowledge. There's only so much mackerel at Torquay harbour to catch. Likewise with Brixham break water but he adores Berryhead and has been known to dable at Blackpool sands too. Ooh missin sunny Debn already. Off to IOW this year for a wee change so we'll see how that goes and we stay in Scotland at Easter ( gettin back to ma roots waaaay up north). Any hoo I don't 'do' boats- terrible fear of open water, need solid ground under my feet or I spew. Did a boat trip from Gourock to give it a shot caught a few pollock , fell into the bait bucket, broke the bait bucket, vomited for 6 hours!

Thanks Guys x
