Cd Mirror Lead Lifts

Those of you who use lead lifts might like to have a look at these.
Get an old CD or a current Tom O'Conner one and cut them up into lead lifts, Melt a couple of small holes at either end and you just saved yourself about £2.00

Notice in the pics how the light reflects down from the surface, there is no camera tricks here. The pics were actually taken in the fish tank as you can see. With the tide running these lead lifts will shimy (i love that word) in the water and produce a flickering effect like a wounded bait fish.

I know it sounds a bit strange to those of you who dont keep fish but my fish really did get attracted to the shiny surface.

Re: Cd Mirror Lead Lifts

Very nice pics and thanks for the post

Interesting though , what angles are needed to achieve the lift or do you just get a lead lift and copy it

Re: Cd Mirror Lead Lifts

Dosent really matter as long as the holes are quite central. the surface tension in the water will make the lead lift come up like a surfboard.
Ive used these for ages and the end tackle will rise to the surface some 30yards out.

Re: Cd Mirror Lead Lifts

Silver Dollers are just great aint they...I got six in there at the moment, I lost one the other week cos he hit a rock at mach 3 and ended up with an infection.
Theres also 1 Pim PICTUS
4 gouramis
4 Black Widows
1 Silver Shark
1 Zebra Loach
3 Red Rams
and 1 Yellow Fin Tetra

LIKE I SAY...."IF YOU CANT CATCH EM...KEEP EM"

This is a pic of the tank just as I started to put some small Neons in.Its changed a bit since then cos the Dollers ate all the vegitation.
