Re: conger rig where i go (bristol channel) we only get straps so just use a heavy pulley rig with either a 25 or 40lb snood and 4/0 hooks and mackeral or squid, as also hunting thornies at same time __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives

Re: conger rig I fish in Ireland for conger and use one metre of 80lb mono tied to a pirk using 6/0 long shank hook. Mackerel fillet with split mackerel head is effective as bait. Mackerel fillet is hooked from tail end of fillet presenting the head first to the conger. Heavier mono line can be used if big conger are likely to be caught.

Re: conger rig I use 80lb mono crimped to a size 6/0 hook. I allways keep the rigs very simple remember you only need to cast 10 yards. tj
