up and over ledger rig

Hi guys,
The best rig i have come across is the up and over ledger rig.I find this the best rig for cod as the bait is nailed to the sea bed, where the cod feed and it is streamlined and when reeling in the weight is always above the fish. There are a couple of variants of this rig using srt springs which is not a running ledger but fixed and also ian golds loop rig looks good. The up and over running ledger rig was in tsf mag a couple of months ago and requires hardly any components which is another plus.
cheers,
darren.

Re: up and over ledger rig

am i right in thinking that the hook lentgh clips up and tehn clips back down to where the weight is?
i once made 1 of these and caught a nice large lump of sea weed on it, while bringing the sea weed in (what a fight!) the line got stretched and wouldnt fit the clip down bits right any more, prob down to my making of the rig though

Re: up and over ledger rig

If the rig is made correctly you shouldn't have any problems with it.One thing I forgot to mention though was to straighten the top bait clip which is a genie rig clip, otherwise it won't unclip.

darren.
