Re: acouple of rig pics

how long would it take you to make the rigs and do you think impact shields work as i have tried rigs with or without and have not notice any difference if i use a delicate bait i whip them on with plenty of bait elastic now even sqiud

Re: acouple of rig pics

i dont usualy bother with impact sheilds my self, infact i neever use clip down rigs at all, have used em afew times n just dont get on well with them, prob down to my making of them
i just put them on there cause i know alot of people use them all the time
its amazing what you can do in paint if you got nothing better to do, other than cw

Cool Re: acouple of rig pics

Nice pics Ben.

A lot of hard work went into creating them

The only time a use rigs without impact shields is when i am fishing closer in for flounder or just scratching for bits.

For long distance casting, a shield or impact lead is a must
a) To be areodynamic for distance
b) To protect the bait especially lug from the impact on entry into the sea.

If you want to add a little distance to your casting then slim your rigs down.

Re: acouple of rig pics

One thing i would like to add,

genie SRT springs, Would never make another rig without them, keeps the bait in impact sheild under tension, and if your cast goes mistimed then it stays in the clip.
Also if you want maximum distance and decent bait presentation, always use impact sheilds.

Re: acouple of rig pics

1 thing i add to my hook snoods is 1 sequin ,1 bead and a stop knot in this order from the hook end this will stop the bait flying up the snood when you cast out, just bait up and move the stop knot towards the hook and this will compress the bait tightly and keep in in good conditon for the take off and landing
