Old Smoothy Flounder Wishbone Rig

Sufficed to say I have had numerous requests for the Smoothy Flounder rig.

Having now tied 1,000's I am short of materials.

So to give forum peeps a chance to tie their own here goes......

Take a five foot length of line.... say arms length.

Come back 18" - 2feet and tie in a "BIG" blood loop its easier if you use a cup hook or nail to slip the blood loop over before tightening up, once done ,you should have () loop with the knot on the main line, now cut the line of the loop at the bottom next to the knot and you should have a Y shaped piece of line in you hand with the knot 2 feet from the top of the line.

At the top you should tie in a small swivel.

On the two tag ends put 5mm beads and silver sequins in sequence of bead sequin bead. Bead colours orange/yellow... Green/Yellow etc. Once done finish off by tying on your hook say size 4 or 2 longshank.

Once finished you should have a snood that is 6-8 inches longer thn the other that stands proud of the main line.

i have used a wishbone frequently in the past but never for flounder,
what is your favourite baits on the two hooks smoothie,or do you just put maddies on both

I ring the changes Paul, sometimes just maddies on both hooks then swap over to fish bait on one peeler on the other. Just to change it around a bit if i'm not getting bites.

another thing,i always try to make the hooklengths the same length,i thought that was the idea of a wishbone,to get two baits together to increase the scent trail,
have you always made your rigs up this way ?
