My first go at an Abingdon knot to attach tracer

Well - To say the diagram made it look easy was an understatement! I proper struggled to hold the loop tight whilst wrapping the line around it to achieve the knot! Makes a blood knot look an absolute cinch!

Anyway - Probably didn't get enough loops around it, but here's my knot. I couldn't pull it apart with all my strength (unlike some earlier attempts.... ) So I hope it is strong enough. Now to attach the same wire to my multiplier in readiness for boat fishing.

At least on my main fixed spool reel I now have no worries about casting out with a BIG weight anymore. I might invest in a 5 oz or 6oz and see how far I can welly those feathers out....

My camera is not the best.... As my macro setting shows.

Re: My first go at an Abingdon knot to attach tracer

Made an amateur error with my first knot. Felt strong so thought I'd use a ciggie lighter from a little way away to melt the ends.... Ended up obviously affecting the main line as I snapped it dead easy after....
