Re: Long Range sea fishing rig

pulley rigs, self tensioning ;- no problems.

also no messing about when you have to tie a fresh hook shortening the snood.

Re: Long Range sea fishing rig

i personally use power gum stop knots instead of crimps as i believe the crimps weaken the line.

i've never had an impact shield fail to reliese, best bit of kit anyone invented!

the hook hasn't gone in the slot or between the shield and line by accident has it? thats the only way it won't release.

Re: Long Range sea fishing rig

Hi Mark,

I think Down South was just joking about the cotton wool and over protecting it from impact....

The only cotton that should ever go anywhere near your bait is cotton elastic (or bait elastic.). This is a fine piece of elastic used to secure your bait to the hook.

Oh and BTW, there's no such thing as a stupid question. Every question you ask means you learn a bit more. Every single member here is still learning something... And besides, you should have read some of my pearls when I frst started.

Cheers,

Rich.

Go tot the Veals Mail Order site and I think they are about £1.25 for a pack of 5.
