Re: Briad and its problems

Yes it is a must for lure fishing the takes are that much more positive with braid.
I add 2m of 15lb 'Florocarbon' to the end.

Great for feeling bites in even the deepest water, down side is cost, and its hard to un tangle.

Re: Briad and its problems

Useing braid for spinning and worming easy peasy on fixspool reel in the sea, lake or river, please read on. Right guys i use braid for salmon when not useing the fly and this is a huge tip, and ive caught skate on it too, but lets stick with the fixspool reel and braid for now for spinning only. It was while i was out skate fishing i learnt this tip, i also landed the salmon shown on site @5lb 2oz useing braid. Anyway here is tip: Next time your out on a boat ask the skipper to go out slowly and tie on ONLY a swivel to end of braid and gently throw it in the sea water at stern end of boat and all you do is hold rod and let the drag of the boat/water take your braid till ALL of your braid has been taken off your reel, then its easy reel it back on. Now try it its rock hard. When braid is new its soft and will only dig in to spool= useless.:e usa_clap

Re: Briad and its problems

Once done in sea you dont have to dip or soak nick in fresh water every time or anytime you go out, i use to b4 tip was shown. Its the salt that does it and ive the same braided line on my spinning fixspool reel for years and ill be useing it for a while yet. Anyway guys try it yourselves and you will know what im talking about. Great tip and it works allright, also saves hands going near cold water freee-zing.
