Another basics question.

I'm going back over the way I do things again (regular event) to check I haven't allowed any bad habits to creep in to my set ups.

My usual beach set up is a 15LB main line (nylon) and 60 shock leader.

The question is , what is the safest way to join the two lines avoiding rod eye jamming?

Cheers folks.

Re: Another basics question.

Have a look here at the 'nail knot' or the albright knot

Re: Another basics question.

That is a cracking site

my choice is the albright hands down, fore ease of tying ,pulls through weed easy and doesn't catch on the tip ring.

Re: Another basics question.

For clear ground fishing, try a tapered leader ... join with two 5-turn Grinner knots.
