Wishbone Dilemma Hey guys heres a problem to solve... I have been having a lot of success with a clipped down wishbone rig. It allows me to present two differeent cocktail baits on the seabed right next to each other which is offering a nice variety and a lot of scent in one area (hooks lay out about 5inches apart). But the problem is that this rig can tackle and does tangle at every oppurtunity! Because I cant see under the water I dont know if this occurs because of trhe cast (rig body twisting due to clipped down snoods), on the seabed because of small fish and tide or on the retrieve. So sometimes when it comes back tangled up I think I may have wasted 15mins fishing withmy terminal tackle in a bundled heap and no chance of a fishing going near it. Is anyone familiar with tying wishbones and more importantly the tricks to stop the snoods tangling with each other and withj the main rig body. Im sure a short boom will keep the snoods seperate but then I wont be able to get both snoods behind the impact shield which is imperative... The only thinkg I can think about so far is using thicker amnesia but for a scratching rig this defeats the object! ANY ideas would be greatly appreciated guys! thanx

Re: Wishbone Dilemma maybe a short length of rig tubing (say 3-4iches) on the hook length helg in positiong at the top with a crim or something this would act as a boom sorta thing once its in the water but would still be able to be cliped down just an idear i had but donno if any1 else has every tried it __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's

Re: Wishbone Dilemma it needs to be flexible otherwise i wont be able to clip both behind an impact shield - if the boom is too big or stiff the hooks will keep bringing out of the shield...

Re: Wishbone Dilemma The wishbone rig is one i really enjoy using & have had good results with it dont try to seperate the hooks let them tangle & roll together it presents a larger bait & gives you double hooking power when taken by fish, If they dont tangle you still have two baits rolling around when theres little tide run.

| Just a thought Juan... If they tangle on the way in. try a small swivel on each snood, it may be the bait is spinning on the retrieve. I always use Flurocarbon as i find its stiffer and it tends to lie away from the other snood. Varivas make a 25lb strain only .435mm thick but its stiff as hell. Hope it helps Cheers Shaun __________________ Eventually all things merge into one, and a River runs through it. Old Smoothy |Shoot and fish .com |Fishing Holidays | Fly Fishing Tuition |

Re: Wishbone Dilemma ben, smoothhound and arfacodsbody these are good tips and i will be building some more wishbones over the weekend. a pint goes to the best idea ok! perhaps i should make a poll Bens suggestion of using a small tube boom Smoothhounds suggestion of using swivels on the snoods Arfacodsbodys suggestion of just letting the baits tangle I genuinely dont know which is the best option so Im gonna have an experimentation session and will let you all know the results! Thanks again lads!

Re: Wishbone Dilemma here is my solution to your wishbone dilema the plastic tubes are held in place with super glule on the beads they have plently of bend in them so can be cliped down and spring back into position when you let go hope this helps __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's
