Re: Wishbone Dilemma ok, afew alteratiosn later and i think i may have creater the ultimate wish bone rig you will notice the addition of a pipe cleaner, this has simply been thread through the eye of the swivel n then twisted around the tube the pipe cleaner gives just teh right amount og strength for casting and can be molder into anyshape, unfortunatly it can not be used to a clip down rig with further experimenting im sure we will be able to find a type of wire which holds enough sprind in it to be able to spring back into possition once casted, i think we might be onto a winner here mate __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's

Re: Wishbone Dilemma im liking it ben. but we MUST devise a long distance version! it needs to be the ULTIMATE wishbone., occasional tangles with the rig body cant be helped as its a clipped rig but rig spin and wobble during casting can be lessened by using a longtail lead... this reduces wobble and spin perfectly. as long as we can get a wire or tube boom which will be clipped and spring out fine we are there. but until then this is the perfect looking estuary rig mate! im liking it.

Re: Wishbone Dilemma i have another cunning plan involving a sdr spring(i think its called that) 1 of those spring things used on clip down rigs __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's

Re: Wishbone Dilemma yeah thats what i have been contemplating using but im thinking to minimise the tangles with the rig body we could use a gemini tube snood then a clipped up long snood line (with a spring) and then clipped all the way back down and behind a impack lead with your boom design there! it woiuld mean the rig has two booms and two clips BUT it could work! hard to describe! are u seein it mate?

Re: Wishbone Dilemma ok, clipdown wishbone rig MKIII has been created and this time it looks like the problem might have been solved i have used a spring thing (think they are called sdr springs) underneath the tubing , swivel n beads. the beads next the swivel are held in postion with super glue likeweise with the tubeing, there must be a gap left inbetween the tube and bead so you can see the spring still otherweise the spring doesnt do tis job. the tube is also held in position by a crimp and bead but that might not be needed in the final model, the important thing is that by the looks of things it should be able to spring bk iinto postion after it has been cliped down but we will not know till i do a feild test but the preliminary tests are looking promishing __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's

Re: Wishbone Dilemma yeah, unfortchunatly i need more springs, that was the only 1 i had n i recon another is needed possible for the top clip inbetweeen the 2 booms __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's

Re: Wishbone Dilemma yeach exactly what i think - just to ensure the snood springs away from the clips properly!!!! i need to go and buy some springs aswell!
