Re: Wishbone Dilemma it does help ben mate cheers. those look like aero beads and i guess they have just glued the tubing to the narrower ends of the beads.... cool! was a bit concerned that tube booms wouldnt spring out of the impact shield properly but to be honest im not gonna know until i try it....

Re: Wishbone Dilemma yeah, they seem to have plently of spring in them so it shouldnt be a prob, yes your right they were just glued onto the narrow ends with super glue there is also some pring in the line if you crimp the beads relitivly close, it puts abit of tension on hte line, just enough for it to wnat to spring out (if that makes any sense) only wa to find out is try __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's

Re: Wishbone Dilemma do u mean put crimps on the snoods? i wont be able to do this coz its a match scratching rig with just 15lb amnesia snoods maximum. dont think the drennan crimps will even touch the sides and the damage to the line wouldnt be good either.....im gonna see how i get on with just aero beads and tubing like in the pic. im also gonna tie a few up with rolling swivels wedged into the bottoms of the tubing to see if that minimises snoods twisting and tangling even more!. by the time i attend a forum meet this rig will hopefully be perfected and i will then patent it because the read made mustad and gemini wishbones are terrible for tangles!! they have no booms and are sh_t!

Re: Wishbone Dilemma its 12lb line on that rig where the hooks are and i have just used some small diameter crimps desinged for corse fishing lightly crimped, i donno how else you would hold tthe swivel in position about from power gum n glue you could try a 3way swivel, this way the line would not twist n you wouldnt have to worry about crimps and then you could put the tubing onto the circle of the swivel n glue there, this way it would all turn __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's

Re: Wishbone Dilemma yeah i normally use 14lb powergum just so i dont lose any line strength on the snoods - chance of smoothies or bass hitting the rig and i dont wanna take any chances so need at least 15lbn amnesia - even that is asking for trouble especially on the gower rock marks where once u have succesfully defeated your fish you have to winch him up a 10ft rock face with a nice convenient 10ft ground swell! lol

Re: Wishbone Dilemma yeah, the areas where i fish aint rocky so i can aford to go light, if you do hook a smut the chances are its skin will go straight though 15lb, i had 1, managed to get it to the shore n was just picking it up when the line snaped, 18lb line n it wasnt even a masive 1 either __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's

Re: Wishbone Dilemma ive managed with small smoothies on this setup but if targettin them i use a pulley pennell with a 30lb trace.

Re: Wishbone Dilemma yes, personaly i think 12lb should be enough, after all a wishbone rig is gonna be targeting smaller fish like flounders which dont have teeth or rough skin, shouldnt be a prob __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's

Re: Wishbone Dilemma well tested it out n maybe the tube needs to have a little big more strenght to it, it casted fine, n the parts with the tube on were fine but the bit from the hook to the tube was wraped around each other, this may well not be a prob though with line stronger than 12lb __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's

Re: Wishbone Dilemma its gonna be expensive but im gonna try flourocarbon used for fly tippets as a snood material.
