Amystichrani is on a distinguished road
When making a three hook clip-down rig,all above the weight,make the backbone up-from the top-casting swivel,crimp,small bead,small swivel,small bead.crimp,
Crimp,small bead,cascade swivel,small bead,crimp,
Crimp,small bead,cascade swivel,small bead,crimp,
I always use a Genie bait clip at the end of my trace,to give me the choice of using a plain lead or a grip lead,or an impact lead.
Always crimp from the bottom hook first,to get the tension.Tie on the hook lengths to the swivels, then hook the bottom one to the bait clip, and using crimping pliers on the bottom crimp, slide the swivel up the main body until it is tight then crimp it.Leave about 1 1/2 ins.and crimp the second crimp. Then hook the second hook on to the cascade swivel and do the same again, and carry on as before to the top hook. This is easiest done with the trace hanging from a hook with a weight on.It sounds a bit convoluted but gets easier with practice.

the most consistant rig for match fishing around Hampshire is the pompey rig invented by Ian Golds. you can fish three small baits 2 large 1 small all clipped behind the lead for distance. The England squad have adapted this rig to fish a pop up for garfish that helped us win in the world champs in Portugal last year.

this is a three hook rig which starts as a normal three hook clipped but the last two hooks clip down right behind each other using a loop of line and cascade swivels.Great distance rig using a breakaway impact lead works on most beaches allows fairly long bottom hook lengths for flatties
