| Best rig to use for Lures Hi, Went Spinning last night and was using a dextor wedge and also tried some diving lures for bass but felt I needed to add some weight on as could not cast out that far.... What rigs could I make up that would suit these types of lures to add some weight on? Would a pulley rig be ok for using lures? Many Thanks in advance Matt |

| Re: Best rig to use for Lures If you are using dexters or diving plugs then no further weight should be added. You should be able to get a plug out 40m or so with a decent spinning rod. A 10ft rod + is best. If you want to fish deep and at distance then try a deep fished sandeel or rubber eel / jelly worm. Simple rig, shockleader (clear), slide on weight (ball weight less wobble and twist or a 3oz/4oz pear weight), slide on a bead, tie on a swivel and then 4 to 6 ft trace. Finish with a storm eel, jelly or frozen sandeel. Cast to the horizon and wind it back in slowly. Bang!!! Probably more pollock will hit this than bass but who knows. |
