Pulley Rigs

I've noticed that when I cast out using a clipped down pulley rig, that it's often still in the clipped down position when I retrieve the rig to check the bait etc. Is anyone else having this problem & has anyone got any suggestions on how to rectify this problem? I generally use Geminii clips.

I have only ever had that happen to me a few times in the years i have been using Gemini rig clips. Are they puka Gemini?

only found recently when using the breakaway type clip on really long rigs for the ray and where the rigs have spun arround each other

Hi Dave,

For Ray rigs that are longer than normal i find its best to use up and over rigs. They are shorter and cast further but unfold to as long as you want them.

impact sheilds + heavy snoods , release every time ( unless u trap the line between the sheild and the line

Use this type of rig alot when fishing for thornies. Works a treat

For pulley rigs, I tend to use Fox bait shields, the large size can hide a full squid on a pennel rig extremely well. I've also just received some d-vice weight/bait tubes, just load the tube with baited hooks, then fold the snood line over the top of the bait.
