Fishing folkstone. The warren

Hi all

Went camping for long weekend in Folkstone and got some fishing in. Just thought id let you all know how it went. After setting up the tent me and my dad went down the warren and tried to do a bit of spinning for bass as the tide was coming in but kept on getting caught up on weed and rocks as we have never spinned before! We was using surface lures, divers and dexter wedges. On saterday we went up the pier and tried mackeral bashing for a few hours but nothing was being caught. Water was a bit coloured which might explain this. I then went out sat night on the apron and high tide was at 00.00 ish s. Got down there at 8.30 and fished the tide up and had 6 doggies and some pout over high water. Doggies were a bit of a pain as i was hoping for a Bass and using a mixture of Lug/Rag and peeler which cost an arm and a leg!. Tried my luck again the following night and only had 1 dog so all in all a bit dissapointed although cant grumbbel to much. I got talking to a Local on the pier and he sais that he fished a match the week before and caught 3 sole so it might be a early season which is fortunate! Also recons that a lot of bass to plugs during. Mainley over the rocks behind the pier! Like i said i had no luck but prob not got the right technique or spot as not sure what to be looking for!.

Still it was roasting hot and england won so made up for it all

Unfortunatly left my cam at home and my Mum wouldn`t lend me her cam (You aint gonna get a load of fish and worm guts over mine!!!) so will try and get some next time!

Tight lines all

Joe
