Re: Admiralty Pier Security hello sid,i don't think its much of a problem mate, there have been a few problems during mackerel time ,there are scores of eastern europeans on there trying to catch mackerel to sell and there have been a few incidents. most normal anglers know the score and avoid the admiralty like the plague during mackerel time. all other times seem to be fine mate.

Re: Admiralty Pier Security the only trouble does seem to be between the british and the foreigners, especially in the summer. but having said that there are foreigners that just enjoy there fishing like you and me. i was down there late last summer to get some macky and gars for the freezer. the pier was packed with foreigners and i thought oh great don't know why i bothered coming on here. after an hour or so i had caught a few garfish and mackeral and the foreigner next to me come over to me, i thought that he was gonna try and pinch some of the fish. but to my surprise he just wanted to know if you can eat the gars and how i was catching them. then to my absolute surprise (i almost fell over) he offered me a beer. then after that another one further up the pier come over and asked how you catch garfish. what i'm trying to say is don't be to quick to judge what people are gonna be like, just because there not from this country. i think this is where alot of the trouble starts.

Re: Admiralty Pier Security you are right big guy,i too have met some nice ones, i have also had one who tried to pinch fish out of my bag and watched another try to lift a reel out of a mates box. it just isn't worth the hassle, most anglers steer clear of the addy in the summer.

Re: Admiralty Pier Security there are good and bad on there. in winter you should be alright. in summer i only go for a couple of hours to get macky or at night or on the first bend for the gars.

Re: Admiralty Pier Security i only go to get mackeral 2 times a year coz i can find better things to do than feather for bait each weekend. so i do take alot of fish, but i only get the macky for bait in the freezer. i will fill a large cool. but these fish are killed straight away and put on ice in the box, not left in bags to suffocate. i don't know what shop would buy the dried fish with dirt all over them.

Re: Admiralty Pier Security nah thers nothing wrong with that! ill take a few for the barby (especialy if im having it that day! nothing like real fresh macky) a half dozen might go into the freezer for bait! and like you i put them straight on ice! mackrel is one of the fastest flesh to break down! i wouldnt touch one thats been hanging about in the sun for an hour or 2, with your barge pole let alone mine lol i used to fish with a vietnaimes mate that run a resturant, he would bag up and in the bag they would go! spose he had a reason but put it this way! i steered well clear of his fish cakes!!! but you have to wonder about alot that walk off with huge amounts! fish mongers wont take em ,not worth the law suit for food poisoning, and the same with resterants! so wot do these peaple do with em? my worry is some just go home and say wow look! wot a great fisherman i am! look how many fish ive cought!!!! 2 days later in the bin they go! ![]() __________________ SCUPPER A COMMERCIAL TOOOO DAY!

Re: Admiralty Pier Security i watched an oriental family on dungeness beach a few years ago and they were a like a well oiled machine. the dad and sons were catching the mackerel, girls and toddlers were collecting them and taking them back to the mum and grandma who were filleting them and putting them straight in the cool box. straight in the freezers in the restaurant no doubt lord knows how many they got,i got my 10 or so in no time and cleared off to my bassing mark.
