| Re: Admiralty Pier Security Hi all I’m new to this forum and I’m a foreigner myself. Not an eastern European but a South American from (Chile). Every summer my father and I always fish at Admiralty Pier (Dover) and we often catch quite a lot of mackerel 200+ Once I’ve catched a few with a bucket I collect salty water to keep the fish cool, then I clean them getting rid of the head and guts I regularly change the water to keep them as cool as possible. I never keep the fish in a plastic bag always in a bucket away from the sun. Once the day is over I mix the fish with ice waiting for me in the car and make my way back to London. As soon as I arrive home I usually keep around 20 to 30 fish to myself and the rest I give them away to my neighbours. Since I’ve fished there I have seen a few fights and normally it all starts when lines get tangled, you do get a lot of people that can’t throw their line straight and when you try to help them they get and they argue with you.The only thing I don’t like is when it gets too crowded but apart from that I do have a good time every time I go, hopefully this year can be a good season for everyone where ever they decide to fish so they can be friendly and respect the person next to them so we can all have a good time. Please forgive me for my grammar or me spelling mistakes. |

there was no offence meant to you as a foreigner, it's a bit of a generalisation really but easier to explain that way. your spelling/ grammar is better than mine. LOL |

| Re: Admiralty Pier Security just about any peir or deep beach will show mackys at some point down south in the summer! you ever thought about binning the feathers and having a go with a fresh water float rod or carp rod, a single macky on light gear and a pike float is great fun! very strong little fish for ther size! ok your not gana walk with 200+ but you will get more out of it! ![]() __________________ SCUPPER A COMMERCIAL TOOOO DAY! |

| Re: Admiralty Pier Security just to the folkestone side of dover you've got a rough ground venue called samphire hoe. it's a concrete platform to fish from and in the sea is the huge rocks from the channel tunnel. you don't get as many macky there but you can use light tackle and really have some fun. deal pier does get macky but it's abit hit and miss when they'll be there. or dungie has macky when the water is clear. nowhere as consistant as the addy though. |

| Re: Admiralty Pier Security I fished (rather I attempted to fish) the admiralty pier Saturday afternoon/evening. Got frustrated by the maccy bashers - couldnt keep a bottom rig in the water more than a minute without it getting pulled out by feathers miscast or drifting in the tide run. wierd thing was the people who were drifting didnt seem to be bothered by the tangles they were generating and just kept happily chucking it out to sea. I had laboured under the false assumption that the tide run would bring a natural close to the maccy crew's session - silly me! Only real gripe was the sheer volume of crap left on the pier - it resembled a rubbish tip at times and the tiny fish that were being kept - talk about cradle snatching!
