Folkestone, 20-12-11

Went fishing to Folestone pier last night, was going to head to dunge but was advised not to by the tackle shop as it was packed shoulder to shoulder (according to another angler earlier in the day)

As I went down to load the car I found a tenner in the car park Well thats the petrol paid for I thought, as I was using old lug from the freezer this trip cost me a total of £3 for some squid!!! Result!!

Arrived at 8:30pm and was fishing on the elbow of the pier, water was dropping as high water was at 6:45. I set up with a 5/0 Pennel rig and was baiting up big with the stinky blacks and squid, also had a frozen pilchard (i think) left in the freezer so brought that to try.

Well we had whiting all night, not to fussed as a lot of them were large, had 6 that must have been over 1lb in weight!!! Also by some bizzare stroke of luck I even managed to hook a Dab on a 5/0 hook lol

I even found time to check in on you guys, although it cained by battery life on the phone and took forever lol

Stayed till 2:30am, it had started to sleet and rain by 11:00 so by now had enough whiting for tea and was starting to think of my nice warm car!

It seems I was not the only person on the pier that evening after all they do say he is invisible but clearly he didn`t think much of his suit for fishing, probably upgraded for a all in one

God knows how that ended up on the pier lol, seems they have started the festivities early in Folkestone lol

Well thats it till next time

Tight Lines and merry christmas

Joe

Nice session Bluesbro, wondered where my tenner blew to
Santa`s finally flipped, he must have heard the Government were going to introduce a sleigh mileage tax.
