Re: deal

have you tried the ship and lobster in gravesend? There should be a few codling down the river by now. You can also try dover admiralty pier or dungeness

Re: deal

Dungeness is still open, even when the work is being done only parts of the beach will be closed anyway. Best time to fish down there would be a mid-week trip to avoid the crowds. The mark that is most popular is the "dustbin". Best fished over low water and into the drop off but be warned it`s a bit snaggy so make sure you got plenty of leads and best to use a pulley rig

Re: deal

Franklyn if your fishing at Dunge the Blacks will out fish commons all day long!!!! Blacks are the best bait from Folkestone right the way round to Dunge, the whole of that area is a massive Black lug bait bed, it`s what the fish are used to eating! Also you have the added bonus of being able to freeze what you dont use that day and will have bait to use in the future. was out last night and was using old black lug from over a month ago, straight out the freezer and I had loads of fish on then, flatties especialy love a bit of old black.

Re: deal

Yeah, get your self some black lug, squid and razor fish. Make combos up of them 3 and you wont go to far wrong. There are loads of razor fish in that area...Also if it has been windy there will be a load of shellfish and other things washed up onto the beach so just collect and use that.

If you can be arsed you can also use muscles!! Get a bag of live ones from sainsburys, prize them open and either 1- slide them down a baiting needle untill it is full of the snotty things. Once it is full then take bait cotton out and whip is all into a sausage shape and freeze....OR.....2- semi defrost the squid, remove the head and scoop out the inards( so you have a squid bag) them stuff the muscles & or worm into the squid bag, tie the bag up with elastic cotton and freeze. Once you hit the beach you can secure it onto a pennel, pierce a few holes into it and you will have ready made cod bait giving out a really juicy scent!!!!!
