Maldon essex and surrounding area

Am giving my girlfriend a lift to work in maldon in essex next week and thought i'd try and have a fish while I waited for her to finish, she's going to be there from 9am till 5pm.

Being from the other side of the water (kent) I don't really know the area and was wondering where is good to go? Had a look on google earth but everywhere looks a bit marshy.

Ideally would like somewhere that I can park nearby and not have to hike for miles to get to the mark.

Any advice would be appreciated
