| Dovers Eastern arm 14th March Arrived on the arm at about 12ish right on LW. Weather was sunny all morning but started to become overcast when I started fishing! To start with things were slow. I was using 2 rods, one with a 4/o pulley pennel with a squid wrapped in a side of mackeral and a two hook flapper with lug tipped with squid. After about an hour the fish started, first fish of the day a small dab. A while later a codling, undersize! but I was intrested now. The for the next couple of hours it was small codling an a couple of dabs. Must have caught 5 codling in the end, all too small. Also caught a large crab! The weather continued to turn, the north easterly polar maritime air flowing over the warm sea caused the fog to roll in, it never rained but the air was wet claggy and cold but not too uncomfortable so I carried on. I caught a sizable whiting at some point but diddnt see the point in keep him as I wasnt catching anything else worth keeping so threw him back. Toward 4oclock at the end of the session I caught another and whished I had kept the 1st on I caught the pair would have made supper. I caught a large dog fish at the end of the sesson as well, he went back also. As always a busy afternoon on the arm. Nothing worth taking home though, shame. Still enjoyed myself, looking forward to another session on thursday down the arm and aslo a trip to the hoe with my boy on Saturday. All the best. J [IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG] |

I have never posted my reports from the arm before as its not a place anyone one can go but I figured people like to read the reports no matter where they are from. Its a bummer that only pass holders can use the arm, but then its an even bigger bummer working on the ferries! Take it easy. J |
