| Re: Any idea on good spots in/around chichester? Hi Dom, welcome to the forum.. firstly i might as well point out that the 'baby ling' you caught were infact either 3 or 5 bearded rockling . a common visitor in these barrem months and a matchmans staple fish as nothing much else is a bout !depending on your gear/ability you are spoiled for choice ! look at the catch reports for the south region and you'll see theres a few of us who fish all over hampshire and dorset week after wek Steve __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting |

| Re: Any idea on good spots in/around chichester? well at the minute your best option is to try for a flattie on Hayling during daylight or fish at night and hope for an early ray .. weather looks dodgy for the rest of the week , but once it settles down after a blow the fishing will improve .. bait wise you want ragworm with plenty of shiny bling for the plaice and frozen ammo eels and bluey for the rays Always keep them in a cool bag and keep any fish baits about 80% frozen ( you want it soft enough JUST to be able to cut it ) .. May will see the first mackerel appear as well as black bream and then the fun begins along the south coast with some massive smoothounds ![]() Danny will be fishing Eastoke this Saturday and imo its probably the only place worth a look for a week or so .. selsey, pagham, gosport beaches and hayling will be you best bet over the next 6 months or so . __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting |
