Low tide marks in kent

Hi guys n gals

Just wanted to pick your brains and see if anyone knows of any decent marks that are gonna fish over low water well in kent? I was planning on going on sat night but weather is rubbish and the only day thats lookin half decent is thurs night with low water at 10pm. Im planning on gettin to the beach at around 8ish so a few hours down the a few back up. Its a medium size tide so just tryin to think of whats about and where to go. I have heard that some marks along deal are good fishing over low water (sanddown? kingsdown?) and obviously dunge but im no power caster so might struggle to hit the drop off at low tide.

Anyone been recently or know of a decent low water mark? Any info always much appreciated

Light Lines Guys

Joe

Re: Low tide marks in kent

not a chance of rays, coddling, pout, yting, dogs mainly, nice nw wind at sandwich will give u better chance of cod, but still i think a few weeks early

Directions to Sandwich Bay

The easiest way is as follows and avoids the toll:

Get to Deal and get on the seafront.

Drive along the seafront road east (with the sea on your right).

Follow this road to the end and it turns sharp left away from the sea.

300y after leaving the sea the road bears sharp left again. On this bend turn right onto Golf Road.

Follow Golf road. You will go past the golf club. After half a mile or so you will come to the Chequers on your right. Park on the left just after it and there is a footpath marked which will take you to the sea.

To fish the slipway, continue on about 1/2 mile and you will see a big house to your right set well back from the road. There are some parking spots on the road to your left (grass verge parking) and a gate and stile to your right. Go through the gate and follow the path. this will bring you to the "slipway".

Sandwich Bay 10th green

best to share a car here as parking is limited especialy around the chequers pub , the bay fishes best in a north easterly backing north westerly or a south westerly backing west north west , with a 6 m tide the best on a midnight tide

tactics are the same as dungeoness but you dont have to use pully pennels as its clean ground mostly a fixed pennel with size 2 /o in early october and 4 / 0 in december is good enough , i found that long casting produces the best fish but 40 yds will get you cod and loads of whiting

Boundary road @ Kingsdown is a good low water spot, and 60-80 yard hit would do ya there

Re: Low tide marks in kent

Thanks Squidy, nice bit of info, supposed to be a strong northerly blowing tomorrow (fri) with wind dropping on sat so was wondering if fishing sat would be any good around sandwich? Should put some colour in the sea so thinking sat night fishing 2 hours before and then over low water. Its either that or chance dunge but not sure as i dont think it will fish a northerly to well?

Regards

Joe
