Re: hythe kent beach fishing for beginer

Hi Steve,

I don't know Hythe at all which makes giving advise a bit tricky. Each beach fishes differently, and you'll only really find out what conditions are best by talking to people who fish it, or by getting out there and actually doing it.

As a (very) general rule of thumb, periods after slack water can often produce, low tide and up often being a good time. The theory is that the fish will follow the tide back in looking for food as they go.

Personally, I'd look to be fishing into darkness, with the twilight peroid being good for species like Bass. Be warned though, it looks like it's going to be rough this weekend, which could make things tricky.

Maybe some of our more local members will be able to give some Hurst specific tips.

Re: hythe kent beach fishing for beginer

Only fished Hythe (Kent) once (October) and it was one of my best sessions - caught buckets of Whiting and gave me a really good place in a national competition ... small hooks, light into darkness and my biggest haul was in that hour up to HW in the dark - small hooks, rag/lug & mack strips ... but as Baggie says, will fish differently in different conditions ... like most beaches HW building tides in darkness - you wont go far wrong ...

Hi Steve. You will find anywhere between Hythe and Folkestone will give you good fishing. I have fished Sandgate many times and have caught a variety of fish at any state of the tide. Sandgate is my favourite. It offers clean ground and best of all the car is parked close by. If you feel adventurous then try the Warren at Folkestone. John
