Re: fishing in kent

hello mate welcome to the forum,
in this weather often the best time to fish a lot of the venues around this coast is at night,
i have heard that dungie is fishing well for whiting at night,
if you cant fish at night i would suggest one of the deeper water venues like dovers admiralty pier ( if you can tolerate hundreds of tinsel flingers ! ) or the breakwater,
best of luck wherever you go mate

what is tinsel flingers?
im going to sound silly asking but!!

Re: fishing in kent

its not cheap on the breakwater, you have to pay for pier membership, you have to pay for the days fishing and you have to pay for the boat to take you out there.
the boats take you out at 8 in the morning and bring you back at 3 ( if i remember rightly !! )
tinsel flingers is the nickname for mackerel fishers,it can get very busy on the admiralty.

i have only been to newhaven once,it was a nice comfy venue ,but i have heard that fishing has been stopped on the west pier.

Re: fishing in kent

yer that wouldnt suit me having to rely on the boats and having to cut the day short at 3 isnt what id like,

yer i think your right about newhaven, the breakwater is closed as far as i can gather but who knows, were did you fish? seaford side or the other?

oh im sure the makrel fishers wont bother us, ill be in there fishing for them to!!

whats the best bait down there? got lugs from saturday but they might be dead now lol, still sure theres a tackle shop close by, thinking squid might be worth a go also?

the tinsel flingers are generally shoulder to shoulder and it gets very busy there,
there are 3 tackle shops in snargate street in dover, they will provide you with all you might need

Re: fishing in kent

really!! im sure were find a place if not ill go to seaford, i know its ok ther, so long as its no seaweed galore ill be happy, ive got a tackle shop 5 minute walk from me but you have to pre order lug worms as you can imagine were 40miles from the sea to the south and 40-65 se/ east (sevenoaks)

what you think on bait down there as i know the whiting and fatfish like lug at dungeeness but would the bass prefer a it of squid?
