Folkestone

Hi all.

Started shore fishing again after 30 years. I have been going along Princes Parade at Hythe, but there is sea defence work going on - shifting the shingle. Where else is good around Folkestone/Sandgate/Hythe area?

Heard Samphire Hoe mentioned. Is this shore or promenade? Easy to get to and free?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Sorry not my neck of the woods, but am sure someone will be able to help you soon.
I look forward to any catch reports, especially the funny ones.

Re: Folkestone

hello mate, welcome to the forum, you are spoilt for choice round this way,
folkestone pier is always worth a cast, the dabs there are particularly obliging,
the warren will be worth a visit soon as the bass will be around shortly, the piers at dover offer some very deep water, samphire hoe is a good venue but a trifle specialised,it is very snaggy so rotton bottoms and float fishing are often used,
back over the other direction dont forget sandgate, it is a very good beach but with some snaggy spots i would recommend a visit during low water to pick out the likliest spots,
thats a few for you mate,if you want any further info dont be afraid to ask
