Sea fishing buddy wanted southend/canvey area

hey all my name is david and i am looking for someone to help me along with my fishing. My Mrs bought me a new set up for xmas and i've added a bit to it through reading books etc, so i have all the gear but what i really need is someone to show me a few things to get me started. I've done abit of coarse fishing but only caught fish by luck than anything else and i went out on a charter boat off the I.O.W in the summer and caught the sea bug, so if anyone could lend me a hand it would be great

i know strood very well my mrs is from walderslade so i've been in and around that area for 14 years or so, and i'm only in aveley which isn't far at all.
What area do you fish ? i've read abit about the medway and often seen people fishing from sun pier, not tried it myself

At the moment ive been fishing the MCE and gillingham pier, but ive also just joined a club on the isle of sheppy, With me not been able to drive at the moment its been akward to get to most places.
