Re: kent hey paul! do you do many matches round the county, i'm starting to do matches next year after having a break. i'm really starting to miss the buzz now. as you seem to fish the same area as me quite a bit we'll prob bump into each other sometime.

Re: kent hello mate, yes you are right, there was probably every chance of us bumping into each other, unfortunately things have changed somewhat and i now fish mostly on the darkside (coarse that is ! ), i know where you are coming from though, the buzz you get from the match circuit is really something,i too miss it,but i really have tired of pouting bashing and scratching for the odd rockling etc, i will be on the piers and beaches now and again but i think its the darkside for me. at least i know the fish are in there, not so sure about that any more on the beaches.

Re: kent hello ken.welcome to the forum we are neighbours,i'm in faversham,i can certainly try to put you on some fish. firstly, whitstable and tankerton in my book are a dead loss,i have had a lot more success just up the road at herne bay, this time of year you should be ok for bass, silver eels and a flounder or two,one of the more favored venues being hampton pier ,the marina arm is also productive but this time of year there are a load of jet skiers about, failing that, why not do the 30 minute trip down the A2 to dover or deal, the water is deeper and the fishing is usually a lot better. if i can help any more don't hesitate to give me a shout wherever you go,best of luck mate. ![]()

Re: kent cheers paul where abouts is marina arm also what would be the best bait to use at hampton and also does the weather affect if you catch or not many thanks

Re: kent the marina arm is the new pier in front of the clock tower,it can be very good on there particularly in the autumn when whiting come in thick and fast as for bait, you see people turning up with a whole range of baits but i have found over the years that the humble lugworm takes a lot of fish, not forgetting peeler crab when in season, the only other bait i take is a bit of squid for tipping off, hampton is best fished on the western side(the whitstable side ) and the rocks that go out from the end are an obvious fish attracting feature, but don't be too adventurous, the tide will quickly push you into them. as for weather,i have seldom caught down there on a flat calm,in my opinion it needs a bit of a wind and swell to fish well, the colour of the water makes a difference as well,if its clear, perhaps not so good,a nice brown colour is my favourite hope you enjoy yourself when you do go ken

Re: kent Hi Ken New member myself. Me and bluesbro hit various locations in the summer e.g. the Warren at Folkestone, Folkestone, Dover and Deal piers and not forgetting Denge Marsh & Dungeness. We are planning to try Minnis Bay this year for rays and smoothies. We also fancy getting to grips with spinning in a serious way. Hope that helps mate Tight lines

Re: kent Hi Paul Got any tips on spinning lures for bass mate. We get told that various types of lure are effective but we are not sure what factors determine which type of lure will be best in what conditions. We normally fish both ends of the Warren in Folkestone but are happy to try other venues. We live in Sittingbourne. Cheers Mate
