| Re: common skate Hiya, There are a fair few in the Sound of Mull, I fish for them most weekends on Davy Holts boat ,Catchalot....my pb is 178lbs.....but, there was one caught recently in Scapa Flow.......by Mike Thrussel......  |

| Re: common skate Hey, i've had from the shore, Hooked three and landed one, probably about the 150lb weight mark. I was alone and counldn't deal with the fish so never got measurments. Seems to be best in early - mid september when sea temps are at their max. Deepish water with a clean bottom running up to rock and you'll need a vertical drop to play them if they go doggo. I fished Loch Erribol but I belive the top of Skye can be good also. Richard |
