Sea fishing starter

Can anybody advise me. I am going to give sea fishing a go this year and was wondering whats the best tackle for a beginner. I was thinking of buying a starter pack are these worth it ?

Re: Sea fishing starter

The old saying 'you get what you pay for' is very true when it comes to sea fishing .. the rigours of big seas, bad weather, salt corrosion and general bashing from beaches and rocky marks means the kit you buy has to be good enough not to let you down when you finally land your first good sized fish ..
It will depend how serious you want to get into the sport - its not worth forking out more than 50 quid if your only gonna fish 4 times a year ... and its not really worth looking at upgrading all the time so go for the best you can afford with regards to rod and reel - some decent mainline and then the bits and bobs will all come together as and when you need them ..
Im sorry its not a decisive answer but its one of those areas where there isnt really a right or wrong !
