| Re: north scotland torridon gairloch I used to fish Gairlock about 38 years ago and catch some nice cod amonst other species.I was still at school then and fished down at Kidston point? and Rhu narrows.half way along rhu narrows there used to be a steel structure with a basket type box on top and I used to get in there at night to fish it was like boat fishing without the boat but scarey on big springs as you didnt quite know when it was going to stop rising.things you do when young.otherplace we used to go was Gullybridge pier, deadly at night with all the planks missing but worth it for the fishing.Im hopping to come up fishing this year is it still good. |

| Re: north scotland torridon gairloch Hi Mack, Have been coming to the Gairloch area for our summer holidays for about 8 years now and loving it. My main focus is spinning as I live far away from the sea and don't really have the opportunity of doing a lot of bait fishing, so my experiences are rather limited. (Have bought a beachcaster and gear and been meaning to try it for ages, though...) Have had good pollack and coalies as well as a few codling and pouting(?) from Port Henderson, Mellon Udrigle, Loch Ewe (Cove; Aultbea pier) and Little Loch Broom (Badluahrach - hope the spelling is correct). I will hopefully be over again for the end of July and the best part of August being stationed in Laide, so would be very interested in marks, any other tips and maybe some fishing company. Looking forward to hearing from you. |
