Red face New Aberdour / Gardenstown

Decided to brave the elements and go fishing today. What a waste of time that was.

Decided to give New Aberdour a go because of the NW winds. Didn't expect them to be so strong though.
Surf was well up and looked like Inverbervie on a easterly winds day.

Set up the rod and rest about 11am. In the first 20 mins, i must have picked the tripod back up about 5 times.
The final straw came about 30 mins into the session when i got put flat on my backside by a gust of wind (no mean feet i tell ya ).

Decided to pack in and go somewhere else until the winds died down a little. Visited another little beach i know and wet the line there. But tides were wrong for fishin the place so it was more like casting practice (which i actually do need).

After the winds died a little and the surf visabley calmed down i moved onto Gardenstown. Consulted Bigads as to where to fish/cast and went onto the pier.

The wind was still strong enough to move the tripod around a little so i had to be near it at all times.

Got a couple of bites but only landed one coalfish. Didn't lose any leads but lost a few hooks. Got fed up of the wind in the end and gave in, bought a chinky and came home for a hot shower.

Glad i got out fishing but it could of been better.

Re: New Aberdour / Gardenstown

Must have been quite a wind to put someone on their backside mate.

Well done for sticking it out!
