Sea state: Smooth
Tide status: Fished over low and up
Bait: Mackerel and squid

Started fishing at about 17:30 after walking around and looking at various marks. There were alot of creel pots in the water today.

Nothing was caught up to low tide but the scenery more than made up for it.

After low tide i got a rattle within 10 mins. Reeled in and changed the bait. It had been mangled by something.
Cast back out and within 30 secs of it being in the water something took it. I had a good fight with whatever it was until it went into a kelp bed and i lost it.

About 30 mins after that i got another rattle. This time i struck fast and clean. Not much of a fight until it saw the lamp. Small conger broke the surface. Landed it and proceeded to carefully unhook and return it.

20 mins after the conger came another take. This time it was a powerful take. A nice 3lb coalfish surfaced and was landed.

Fished for another hour after that but nothing else caught apart from a creel pot a few times. Gave in as they were becoming a pain in the doo dar.

Good to get out and the scenery was stunning. The stars were well bright and relaxing tonight. Hope to give it another go when the cod move in.
