Sandend Beach 29 Aug 06

Went to Sandend today on a flattie bash.

Fished for 2 1/2 hours up the tide but had to stop due to me being careless and falling over on the rocks. Hurt my back so packed up.

But the fishing was good for what i did and the Dabs and flounders started to take. All together i got 7 dabs and 1 flounder. I am sure it could be a real producer given the correct tides/times/weather/bait.
I was using mackerel and squid for bait. I didn't have time to go and dig lug or rag. But nect time i shall make sure i do and see what results a get with it.

All in all a good day and glad i got out. Just a shame i had to pack up earlier due to my own stupidity.

Is that sandend in the Banff area?
I used to fish around Buckie Harbour with my uncle Sandy when I was very little about 33 years ago.
It used to be a great place to fish in summer but you would have to be mad or local to fish it in the winter.

Yes it is the same Sandend. Near to Cullen. Check out the website in my sig and look under the 'North east' section. You will find details and pics of the place there

I fish around that area in the winter for cod. Can be productive at times.
