N.W Scotland

Just got back from 2 weeks working up n.w scotland and ive come to the conclusion there are no fish left in this part of the world .
I only went fishing twice but on both occasions i never even had so much as a bite.Whilst up there i was diving every day doing quite long swims and i never saw any fish at all which is very unusual,theres only so much trawled seabed you can look at untill you realise it must all be fished out

Where abouts did you fish? I have fished over the NW coast and caught loads.

Kyles of loch alsh.
Ive done well further down in loch etive but never had much luck further north in Kyles or loch ewe.

Lochalsh is quite a good area to fish. I normally fish Loch Duich (joined onto Lochalsh) and catch loads of thornbacks and pollock. Fish baits are really good for the thornies and doggies.

I normally stay at balmacara house,that area is very poor.
I nearly fished that loch last time up there ,that is one of the few spots ive seen fish but i saw nothing last time i was diving up there.
Do you mean the area further up from the castle where the road is right on the edge of the loch and it looks deep?

Fish off the rocks at Dornie Castle as it into well deep water. Also there are a couple of lay-bys further down towards Inverinate. Although there is one lay-by that you can park in that has a big hump next to it, don't fish the left side of it as some idiots have gone and dumped cars off there and created major snags.

Basically anywhere along the north bank of it is deep and produces fish. This loch is great for spinning for pollock and mackerel in summer.
