Loch Etive (Oban Area)

Hi Folks

I'm looking for some new marks to fish in the Oban area. I've fished Loch Etive, but only from a boat.

Anyone know good conger marks in the area. I've heard about the quarry up there but don't know either how to get there or whether it would be a good conger mark.

Any suggestions appericated.

eel hunter i think the way to the quarry is over the connel bridge if your coming from the loch lomand side then there is a wee road to your right and u follow that till you come to a dead end but i fished there once and blanked after being there for 18hrs could not comment on conger tho i hope i got this right

Re: Loch Etive (Oban Area)

Ive fished the quarry a lot and have always used fish baits and squid..
Last tme i was up there i did well using herring for the roker but i think macky is prob your best allround bait.
If you drive through the qaurry there is a large bay on your right this is were ive caught most.
I have fished further up that road but its very scary at night and ive never done aswell although thats were the locals fish.

Re: Loch Etive (Oban Area)

I m afraid i dont know, the last time i fished it was feb and march which are pretty slow months.
I would have thought its better at this time of year though, ive done well in other lochs this time of year.
Good luck
