| Hi fellas, Well what do you know its almost a year since the last question I posted on this wonderful Sea Loch. But anyway since we have a few more brothers from Scotland on the Forum I though I'd ask it again. I'm going up there on holiday from 11th August and I will be staying 30 yards from the shoreline of the Loch opposite Inverary. Does anyone have any info on where is fishing well and what baits etc to catch some species with?? Any help would be much appreciated Thanks in anticipation ![]() __________________ Eventually all things merge into one, and a River runs through it. | Re: Loch Fyne - Again Morning smoothy. Not sure i can help you much,i work up that way a lot so know a few marks. I usually fish loch Etive from the old qaury(cant spell it) area.Loch etive is def worth a trip as trawlers can not enter it so all sorts of species can and do turn up. As for loch Fyne,i m not to sure ,i always get mixed up with loch fyne and loch long, ive fished at the top end of one of them from a boat and had coddling and ive Furnace which is a very deep shore mark which can throw up Haddock to spurdog. Not much help ,but have a good time anyway ![]() __________________ Come on you HULL! |

| Thanks Gully I've heard Loch Etive is a good spot. I have found out that the slipway at Tanuillt can throw up Gurnards, Spurdog and the like. Also the Furnace area nr Inverary (an Old Quarry) does fish well. When you were up there where did you get your bait?? I had a real problem last time I was up there. Cheers Shaun __________________ Eventually all things merge into one, and a River runs through it. Old Smoothy |Shoot and fish .com |Fishing Holidays | Fly Fishing Tuition |

| Hi fellow Picatores, Thought i'd let those who know me know how i got on up on Loch Fyne in the wilds of Argyll in Scotia. Got up there late last Friday afternoon but just ine time for a quick spot of fresh bait catching...mackeral. 10 minutes and some nice plump makie in the bag for further sessions, they were caught 20 yards from the cottage at low water. Next morning up early before the family over to my favourite mark and 3 hours later....not a bite nothing na da, zilch diddly squat!Oh dear........ is this the things to come i ask myself So that evening after family have hd a glorious day out and are fed and fettled watching TV I go in search of a fish Only bait I have is fresh mackie cut into slivers on a one up two down sratching rig that I use in the Bristol Channel when times are hard. 20 minutes in a nice little rattle that develops into a nod nod kinda bite....and I reel in a nice little Grey Gurnard = 1.5 Points rebaited and cast out and the softest bite shows on the rod tip. I reel in a low and behold another species a Blenny = another 1.5 points things are looking good. Photos taken, pack up and home. Three days later and yet more fishless sessions family are tucked up again so I venture out to a place called Furnace in the old quarry a very deep water mark that can be tackle hungry. I'm after Spurdog this time so I bait up my lumi Hokkais with strips of good old mackie and chuck em out into the wild blue yonder no bites for 2 hours then just as I'm thinking of calling it a day the rod tip hoops over and its obviously a bit bigger than a Blenny this time. A few minute later I land my first ever Spurdog of about 4lbs or so. I reach for the camera get the shot lined up......"Error" film card full ....shhhhhhhh*t no more space I couldn't download my previous fishing piccies as my PC was still in bits at home.Anyway fellas not to bore you too much but I had a couple more sessions for mackie and the like. My tally for the week was 28 mackie, 1 Spurdog, 1 Blenny, 1 Grey Gurnard, 2 Dabs, 3 Thornbacks, 2 Flounder, 4 Dawg Fish and a one eyed Eel Here are the piccies of the Gurnard and Blenny. ![]() __________________ Eventually all things merge into one, and a River runs through it.
