when does a codling become a cod

There are so many answers to that question I don't think there are any hard rules to that but I always take a codling becomes a cod at 7lb in weight

thanks K so its down to personal opinion ive heard a man say he caught a 2lb cod and ive heard another say he caught a 4lb codling when i first started fishing i thought it was 2 different fish "silly cookie me"

7 to 10lb is the norm range of debate i think Dan..

I have heard soggies called rock salmon and spurs called London Rock Salmon so it would not surprise me if they were known as rock cod in your part of the world.
