Evening all, Am going to Folkestone Pier next Saturday from about 8am onwards, anyone been on there lately? any good cod coming out? was on the Amiralty about a month ago through the night but got plagued by dogfish and whiting. No Cod. I am also a lover of the Mackerel and can't quite remember when the best time from the beach ( Shakespere beach) would be (weather permitting of course). Thought it might be around April / May. Anyone know? thanks in advance for your help. regards ![]()

Re: Folkestone Pier Well if you go looking for Dabs Whiting and Slugs you will be happy but if you go looking for Cod you'll be dreaming![]() I think it is about time people got the message - there are no more Cod from the beaches and piers and precious few to be had from the boats![]() ![]()

Re: Folkestone Pier Hya, thanks for the info, am looking forward to coming Saturday. Just me and a mate ( no wife and children ) my time for peace . I'm not too worried about catching the cod, some dabs / whiting and a couple of dabs would be nice. During the summer, I fished Folkestone through the night a few times and had some really good results, mullet, bass etc. Never fished it through the day though. Will post a report when I'm done on Saturday ![]() regards
