| Re: Mackerel You may stand a chance of getting a few if the weather is kind to you, but if this wind keeps up the water will be to cloudy to spin for them. You would need a few days of no/light wind and the sun to come out and im affraid that the up and coming weather forecast doesn`t look good for that!! Pack the feathers away for the year and merely swap over for a pennel rig, lug and squid mate!!! Windy conditions and colour in the sea = Good chance of codling, especialy if its a SW wind (although shakespear beach is one of very few that will fish an Easterly wind) Joe __________________ Sea 2012- 5brd rockling, whiting, LS Dogfish,Bass,Eel,Flounder F/W 2012- Catfish(16.5lb), Carp,Tench LITTER IS JUST LAZINESS!! |

| Re: Mackerel thought that might be the case, I have been fishing from Dungie, Folkstone Pier and getting some quite good cod / dogfish / whiting but was just hoping to re-stock the freezer with some mackerel. and the mrs loves eating them. guess I gotta just wait til next year. I don't normally do mackerel fishing, but this year I kinda got in the mood for it and pulled in quite a good number of them from Shakespeare beach. Had more off there than the pier. am off to Folkstone pier on Sat 29th Oct. probably get on the pier for about 4am. Fish through to 2 / 3pm. cheers. |
