carp rod for bass ?????

Ok bass lads question for ya i have two brand new jrc defender 3lb test carp rods in the loft and a skint mate wants to come bass fishing would they be any good ,,i have heard of carp rods being used as i got em cheap originally for piking, as i didnt want to ruin my carp rods but never used em , it would be a shame not to press them into action and as they easily handle 40lb +carp the weight aye an issue,,what sort of casting weight would i get away with loaded with bait

Cant see why , you wouldnt be able to chuck a 3-4 oz weight and bait with a 3lb TC rod..

Re: carp rod for bass ?????

Carp rods generally have a lot more of an all through action than Bass rods. I use a 2.5 carp rod for Bass fishing on clean ground and in the estuary You'll be fine.
