Re: Newbie

Hi Tooly.

I've just started again. Like you I was rusty (still am) but I'm getting better. I've fished many of the marks from Easington to Flamborough. Blanked every time, but I think it was just trying to get the hang of things again. Tried alsorts of bought rigs etc, tried to make a few, still trying but I'm beginning to check more things out like weather an tides and reading as many posts by the guys who know what there taking about, their advice is so valuble. Hoping to do all the marks again this year and with a bit of luck I . all the best mate, just keep at it.

I'm doing okay with the rig making, although they have changed a bit .
I got a mould and have made a few leads and had a great time night fishing at Roker pier (didn't blank)
Trying the harbour wall at Scarborough a week a Saturday with my Son, not sure what it will be like.
It's amazing how it all comes flooding back, I hope you are finding the return good going as well, and Thank you for your comments

Re: Newbie

Hi Tooely

My mate pete swears by Scarborough, especially in mackrel season. Went with him a couple of years ago, it was early august. we weren't off the harbour but north in the bay. He hadn't checked the weather, it was our third mark since we started again that year. when we got there it was pouring down and it must have been a force 9 gale. every time a wave hit the sea wall we were drenched and when we cast out the tackle just dragged its way in, in no time. We stuck it for about 4 hour and thought we might have better luck it the pub, we did. What date is that a week on sat, OH! the 30th I believe. I was thinking of fishing Barmston that day, just below Brid. my B in Law was going to come with me for a day out, maybe Scab might be a better place to take him! trouble is parking costs a fortune, unless your round at the bay, free parking there, was last time. Give me a post next week! we might bump into each other.
