Reel n rod

Hi all,
anyone got any recommendations for a good rod n reel.
dont like the beachcaster i have its too chunky and heavy.
ive been looking at the new DAIWA SANDSTORM 12ft or maybe a 13ft but not sure what reel to get with it. fixed spool or multipler?

any ideas?
thanks

Talking Re: Reel n rod

Hi Mark - i've been using the Sandstorm in 13 ft ( better choice IMHO ) twinned with two 7 hts and think the combination is fab -I've even had a slosh20 on one without any dramas ..
Dont listen to any negative feedback about the rods - its all horse sh!t ..
my only gripe ? the new Daiwa logo sucks

I have two mint condition Daiwa TDPK's in the cupboard in 12 foot but cant bear to part with them almost 1" butts and light as a feather -
you wont go far wrong with any of the Daiwa rods over £ 100

I use 2 sandstorms twinned with 7ht's mate - identical set up means easier bite detection and also means i can cover more ground/try more baits during a session

lol no worries bud .. yeah the Daiwa 7ht multiplier - probably the finest beach reel ever produced and at one time YEARS ahead of anything else

look on ebay - theres sandstorms on there all the time and i managed 2 brand new ones ( used once on chesil ) for 140 squid
