Re: how to catch a mullet

Hi mate, was fishing off Weymouth beach last week when me and a couple of friends noticed fish flapping about on the top of the water, only about 10 yards out, so I chucked out some feathers just past em and dragged it right through them, bang! rod bent over I reeled it in and "wella" 2 and a half pound mullet hooked in the back but mullet never the less, did the same again second cast and another foul hooked mullet, happy days! Left em alone after but was well chuffed!!
Tight lines!!

Re: how to catch a mullet

Try spining for 'em with a meps spinner. Replace the trebble with a 2" length of mono to a size 6 baited with small rag, or float fish for 'em with a bubble float and bread.

Warning though, mullet fishing get addictive and will drive you insane.

or float fish for 'em with a bubble float and bread.
Thats the way i do it as well

I fill a carrot bag full of bread mash , bits of fish etc , chuck it in and then fish close to it ,

i then retreive my bag at the end of the session ,
if pier , harbour fishing i just dangle it over the side and tie it off
