Ladye bay today

Hi All,

Regular annual pilgrimage today to Bristol channel, fished Ladye bay. Good old LSD, couple of very small codling (didn't know they came in that size!) 2 conger around 10lb each and finally that elusive target fish.. Thornback ray Only one but it made it all worthwhile! Also some serious sunburn.. A great day and many thanks to the guy and his father who passed on their spare rag!

great venue, only fished it once as i used to fish at Aust ...sounds like you had a crackin result and im now even more tempted to go back there

Can recommend it! Made a great change from chesil and nice to catch few fish that put a bend in the rod! Dorset conger are much bigger but never had two in a daylight session. Wicked tide tho, would not like to fish that mark on a spring!

As much as i love chesil for its dogs n pout - 20 years worth of them
i'd still rather fish Clevedon .. funny thing is they are both about the same distance from Salisbury but ladye baye ( 62 miles ) takes nearly twice as long !
might head up there first week of june when the tides are back to sensible !
what bait other than rag were you using ?

Friday eve traffic not a lot of fun leaving Clevedon either! Used the full range of baits. Crab, Squid, Mackerell and Rag.. Ray, codling and a conger came to Rag. The other conger to crab.
