Portland Port/Harbour

Got a day free tomorrow and was going to try a bit of fishing off the rocks around Portland Port, does any one know if is is possible to get round to near the entrance of the port by walking round the rocks from the Nothe and has any one fished that area before?
Any info on Portland Port would be a great help cheers!!
