porthcawl pier

anyone know if you got to pay to get onto the pier in porthcawl not sure where to go either the pier or the knap

No you don't have to pay for porthcawl pier, it is only a breakwater but the water comes over the top on south west or westerly winds and does come over on a southerly over force 6, any big swells will break over the mid part of the wall but not so much at the end, off the pier they are getting early ray over high tide plus the odd small conger (upto about 10lb) Off the beach at knap there is slightly less chance of ray, but dogs will be there and a very outside chance of a bass
